"In other words, the true Historian is the one who studies the concepts of History by abstracting out from its specific details" I'm not sure if Hegel ever think of this option. Precisely the main critic of Hegel to the historians is this way to use abstractions to refuse to see the specific. In the "specific" is hidden the internal contradictions of the concept,  concept "specifics" are the negations. Hegel was fond to find this kind of specifics, because the negation of those negations are the real goal of the concept. They had a lot of examples, and he follows very close Aristotle's teleology.
